Crambrook 1843 Catalog Reproduction
This is a facsimile reproduction of the 1843, second edition catalog from the W.H.M. Crambrook Company. It is the first English-language magic catalogue in the world. There are only a handful of the originals that are known to exist and a copy recently sold for more than US $30,000.00.
In addition to the “Crambrook’s Catalogue of Mathematical & Mechanical Puzzles, Deceptions and Magical Curiosities” the booklet also contains a reproduction of “An Expose of Some Of The Practices Made Use Of By Professional Card Players, Blacklegs, and Gamblers (Part of which is taken, by permission, from a number of Fraser’s Magazine).” At the back of the booklet is a section titled, “The Art Of Fortune-Telling.”
The 48-page, 4¾”x7¾” booklet comes inside an 8½”x11¼” board folder that is gold-stamped with its contents and is hand-numbered from the limited edition of 300 copies. Published by Collector’s Workshop.
